Micro Concrete

Micro Concrete

Cement-based Micro Concrete is mainly used to cover a thin portion of 2-3 mm in thickness, which can be applied to concrete, tiles, or even wooden surfaces. It is polymer-rich cement powder.

Micro Concrete is one of those materials suited to repairing or finishing small concrete surfaces in kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pools, and worktops that provide seamless, non-slip finishes. Microcement has seen a big increase in popularity, especially among interior designers and architects who are looking to achieve an industrial concrete interior where it would not normally be possible with traditional building methods. One of the main benefits of Microcement is the free, flowing seamless aesthetic means there are no grout lines or silicone joins to discolor and look unsightly in years to come.

Micro Concrete

As soon as the paste is applied, it dries and gains strength. As it has a low permeability, it is a better choice over other waterproofing or seal coating pastes. Since the mixture is chloride-free, it's ideal for kitchen use. The surface doesn't even shrink, giving it a clean and even appearance.

Now let's discuss the pros and cons with methods to be adopted for better coating and finish with the necessary strength.
Micro Concrete
Pros:
1. Gains strength more than 30 kN/m2 within 24 hours of apply
2. Impermeability helps in the prevention of leaks
3. No shrinkage cracks are formed
4. Colour pigments can be used for creating colored concrete

Cons:
1. Requires mechanical mixing machines
2. Oil, coffee, vinegar can penetrate and needs to be removed at times.
3. Will require expansion joints for large surfaces
4. Expensive than traditional method
