Zero Energy Building

Zero Energy Building:

Zero energy building and its future
Zero Energy Building
Most of our buildings use electricity for lights, machines, appliances, and personal computers and Most of our usage is from the main power grids. The building cannot be totally depended on the renewable option such as solar panels that are set on the top, but the building such as Zero Energy Building, they use the renewable source on and around the building and match up to the need.
Some times it's not possible for the renewable option to overcome the need due to unconditional weather and situation, they too use some of the power from the grid. But when they have ample power the transfer the energy to the main grid to balance the usage. This can be done on a large scale to form a Zero Energy Community where they can produce and share their power among themselves and produce for other buildings too.

Zero Energy Community Buildings:

The bunch of Zero Energy Building can form a community and share the energy to balance the needs. These types of buildings can be more comfortable as they have are totally on renewable sources so have many more benefits. They can be more reliable so when the power from the main grid is cut-off they can still have energy. They can be more efficient and economical as they use only renewable sources. Zero Energy Building can be more sustainable and good for the environment. They have a rainwater harvesting system that is connected to the tank for the usage. The tank is also then connected to the groundwater with an overflow pipe from the tank.

Zero Energy Building Around World:

There are already such zero energy buildings that are all over the world and are really proving to be alternative to the grid source. Most of them have proved to be independent and sustainable. This concept performed on a large scale can show the world the power of renewable energy. such Projects are going on around the world such are:
Many Countries were running programs for the net-zero energy building project under the umbrella of the International Energy Agency.

Japan: After the 2011 earthquake the country experienced severe power crises that lead to the awareness of the importance of energy conservation and building zero energy building.

Germany: Technical University of Darmstadt won the first place for international zero energy design in the year 2007. Also, the country is aimed at net-zero energy, energy plus, or climate-neutral buildings in the next generation of electricity grids.

India: This vast country got its first net-zero energy building, that is Indira Paryavaran Bhawan, located in New Delhi, in the year 2014. In the Southern state, a whole airport is a power by renewable source energy.

Zero Energy Building Advantages:

Zero Energy Building will protect the user from any increase in the cost of power
It will reduce the requirement of energy
It will have controlled interior temperature thus being more comfortable to live.
It will be more reliable after any natural disaster.

Zero Energy Building Disadvantages:

The initial cost for installation and building the building is high
If the power company turn into renewable power generator the cost of power from the grid can be lesser compared to self-developed
Very few designers and engineers know how to build the Zero Energy Building.

Great Man-Made River (GMR)

Libya's Great Man Made River: The Great Man-Made River in Libya is one of the most ambitious Civil Engineering Project in history of mankind.  In the year 1953, the Libya Government found out not only vast oil reserves but also vast quantity of fresh water locked under the strata, most of the water was trapped around 7000-30000 years ago which is divided in 4 different basins. The first basin is named Kufra basin which is neat Egypt Border which covers almost 35000 sq kilometer which is quite deep around 2000 m deep. The other basin is in Sirte Basin which cover 10000 sq kilometer, third in Murzuk Basin and the last in Jabal Fezzan Basin covering 4800 sq kilometers area.  The GMR project will be used to transfer water to North of the country to provide water for irrigation purpose for more than 6 million  people. This will be a changing point  for Libya and the Colonel Muammar Gaddafi called it the Eighth Wonder of World. The work started in 1984 of the project and estimated to be
