The Char Dham Project consists of connecting the Char Dham with road and tunnel connectivity. So here we are going to talk about one of the main links of this project. The Char Dham Project is under Border Roads Organization (BRO) and is worth 12000 crores. The Chamba Tunnel passes below Chamba Town which connects the NH-94. The tunnel is 440 meters long and currently in the final phase of finishing and will be open in October 2020 or in January 2021.

The tunnel was completed in time and the tunnel work was also continued in this pandemic situation with the utmost care and following the norms. Union Road and Transport And Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the tunnel was completed amidst the current global pandemic. Also after the catastrophe in Kedarnath, the government was committed to all-weather connectivity to Char Dham.
